At Stitch & Mend Sewing Machine Repair, I offer a range of services! Whether it's sewing machine service, scissor sharpening, or Sashiko- style visible mending, I am here to help! I am not a sewing machine dealer. I work to keep your machine running, not try to sell you a new one.

Standard machine service includes troubleshooting and diagnosis, full cleaning and lubrication, test sew and stitch balance, and new needle.
Replacement parts, lightbulbs, and repairs will result in an additional charge, to be discussed with customer prior to any ordering or work.
All Machine Service comes with a 90 day labor warranty.
Mechanical Sewing Machine Service......................................................................................$85
Mechanical machines are machines that use gears and levers to make the machine work, without any computerized systems. This also includes vintage and antique machines, along with modern machines that do not have circuit boards or computerized components.
Mechanical Machine Exceptions: Singer Touch and Sew, or any machines that wind the bobbin inside the machine.........................................................................................................$95
Viking 6000 series.........................................................................................................................$150
Computerized Sewing Machine Service.................................................................................$100
Computerized machines have circuit or computer boards. Most of these machines have an LCD screen, but the circuit boards on all machines are not always visible. A good way to tell if you have a computerized machine: if you can change the stitches with the press of a button, it is probably computerized. A machine that has speed control, needle up/down button, or a thread cutter is electronic. I provide clean and service on these machines only, I do not work on, repair or replace any computer components. There are a few models that require proprietary tools, namely the Bernina models that start with "B" before the model number, those would need to go to a Bernina authorized shop.

Chemical Clean............................................................................................................................+$20-40
Chemical cleans are most commonly needed on vintage an antique machines that have old grease, lint and debris built up in the machine, and sometimes surface rust. In modern machines, if you have neglected to have your machine serviced on a routine basis, it may also require a chemical clean to remove any old lubricant build up. The cost of a chemical clean varies based on the amount of time and labor involved in cleaning the machine. PLEASE NOTE: I reserve the right to add a $20 chemical clean/soak charge only when necessary. Any more significant charges, I will consult with you prior to work beginning.
Machine Restoration/Repair...........................................................................................Coming soon
Restorations are quoted on a case-by-case basis. While tuning up a machine, the need for repairs do arise. If your machine requires anything other than routine service, I will notify you immediately before proceeding. Repairs and restoration will only happen when the customer accepts a price quote, and all costs are known up front. Restoration is often a longer turnaround but is not as costly as you might think! Email me with as many photos and information as you can prior to booking a service.
PLEASE NOTE: I reserve the right to add a $20 chemical clean/soak charge only when necessary. If your machine requires further labor charges or replacement parts, I will contact you for any significant charges.
